Shank Wood Log Cabin, river and woods are unique, sited within the Lyne valley, a major tributary of the Border Esk. Accommodating up to four people, the cabin has been equipped to a high standard making your visit as comfortable as possible whilst maintaining the unspoilt surroundings.
The Cabin is situated at the mouth of a sandstone fault that contains a mile stretch of the River Lyne. The cliffs provide a spectacular backdrop to anyone watching the King Fishers or Dippers go about their day or casting a fly to the resident wild Brown Trout population or the visiting shy Sea Trout. Both in and out of the gorge the river is slower providing numerous pools where Salmon lie.
We opportunity to fish, just five minutes walk from the cabin into open farm land there is a stocked Rainbow Trout pond. This is ideal for when the rivers conditions are not at their best or for younger anglers who may find this fishing preferable.
