My own involvement at all production stages, from the felled tree to the finished article, guarantees outstanding quality control.
...at every stage of production
- The construction of each piece uses mortice and tenon joints which are secured with oak pegs.
- Dovetails used in the drawers are all hand cut.
- Door, side and rear panels are held in grooves to allow for any movement of the wood.
- All carving is done by hand.
- Hinges and metal fittings are in the original style, worked by hand at my forge giving a unique colour and surface finish.
- The furniture is hand finished in the traditional way using linseed oil and beeswax.
- Finally if customers so wish, I can skillfully and authentically 'age' any product.
I also undertake restoration work to individual pieces - Tudor and Jacobean Oak furniture is my speciality. |
