When many people think of California, the first thing that comes to mind is its beaches. The state is home to hundreds of great beaches, but if you want to know which are some of the best, then you’ve come to the right place. Here are the top three beaches in California.
1. Venice Beach- One of the most famous beaches in the world is Venice Beach, which was initially founded as a seaside resort town back in 1905, so there is a lot of history behind Venice Beach. Eventually it merged with Los Angeles and today it is one of the busiest beaches in the state and it’s known for its canals, which you will love walking along. Not only that, but there is an amazing promenade, which is where you’ll see artists, performers, vendors and mystics along the way. If you are ever in California, then make sure you go to Venice Beach.
2. Santa Monica State Beach- You can find Santa Monica State Beach in the city of Santa Monica, which isn’t too far from Venice Beach. In fact, if you’re up for it, you can easily make the walk between the two, but regardless if you do, make sure to check out Santa Monica State Beach. It is a great place to surf and swim or sunbath, but do make sure you check out the world-famous Santa Monica Pier, which is where you can grab a bite to eat, go on rides, fish or just sit and take in the surrounding views.
3. Baker Beach- If you head north of Los Angeles, you will come across Baker Beach in San Francisco, which is a public beach that is popular with both the locals and tourists. From the beach, you will be able to enjoy views of the Golden State Bridge, so bring your camera because you will want to take a few pictures of it while you’re there. However, you should go during the summer months because San Francisco does get cold in the wintertime, but feel free to visit beaches in Southern California any time of the year.
Keep in mind there are a lot of other great beaches, but we consider the above three the best of the best. Do your research to find out about other beaches in the state. However, do make sure you visit at least one of the above beaches once in your lifetime.
