Keswick: Fitz Park
Keswick has a number of green parks including
Lower Fitz Park with tennis courts and football pitch. On a
sunny afternoon the local team play cricket on the spectacularly
located ground beside the River Greta. This activity area has
recently been re-constructed, and gives parents a well-deserved
rest while their children play. The Keswick Museum and Art
Gallery, located on Station Road just off the park, is well
worth a visit. Exhibits include a scale model of the Lake District,
the Musical Stones (a xylophone made out of Skiddaw slate)
and collections of work by Southey and Sir Hugh Walpole.
