North Lakes
Langstrath
Langstrath is the longest uninhabited valley
in the Lake District. From the hamlet of Stonethwaite, in the
Borrowdale Valley, the Cumbria Way follows Langstrath between
bessyboot and Greenup Edge up to Stake Pass. Langstrath Beck
originates up at Angle Tarn, which lies beneath Bow Fell to
the south; the Cumbria Way follows Stake Pass which heads eastwards
into Mickleden in the Great Langdale Valley.
