Dent
Dent village existed in Norman times, as
the Norman doorway over the North side of the Church reveals.
Back then one of the most important events in the town was
the Dent fair held in early June. Stall’s cluttered the
streets, selling all kinds of goods to all kinds of people
who travelled from far lying countryside to buy and sell and
take part in the sports event at the end of the day.
Today Dent is a peaceful village with friendly locals and its
own Brewery serving traditional real ales in pubs within the
village and further afield.
