Dent Station
Dent station, on the Carlisle – Settle
Railway line, is the highest mainline station in England. It
is around 1100 feet above sea level and is positioned equidistant
between Leeds and Carlisle. The station is also one of the
most remote and weather hardened areas of the English countryside.
Indeed as you travel towards the station you will notice the
snow fences to protect the track made from old railway sleepers.
