Grasmere village green

The central point of the village of Grasmere is its green, surrounded by a selection of shops and an art gallery. The village is famed for its Wordsworth connection – William and his sister Dorothy lived at Dove Cottage a few minutes away from the centre of the village. The graves of Wordsworth and his family lie within the churchyard of St Oswald’s, which is a main point of pilgrimage.
