South Lakes
Side Pike
The dramatic Langdale Pikes dominate the
valley of Great Langdale. From just below the summit of side
pike on the southern flanks of the valley, both Harrison Stickle
and Pike of Stickle can clearly be seen, rising up above the
chasm of Dungeon Ghyll.
Walk suggestion: From New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel a challenging 9
mile walk can be made up Stickle Ghyll to Stickle Tarn. Continue
over the Langdale Pikes and finish by following the valley floor
along the route of the Cumbria Way.
