South Lakes
Langdale Valley
From the valley bottom, the surrounding Langdale
fells offers an impressive all round view. At the head of the
valley rise the majestic Crinkle Crags and Bow Fell; to the
south the crags of side pike with Broad Crag and Raw Pike rising
eastwards towards the lower end of the valley.
Walk suggestion: From the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, a strenuous
trip can be made up to the summit of Crinkle Crags and Bow Fell,
descending The Band and White Stones. On a clear day, many Lakeland
peaks can be seen in all directions from the summit of these
two vantage points.
