Boot - Eskdale
Boot village is situated just before (travelling
from the west) the mountain passes of Hardknott and Wrynose,
a journey over which will set your pulse racing. There are
a few stone cottages here, shivering under the rugged and rocky
local fells. The village appears to be the last gathering of
houses before the road turns into a serious test of man and
machine.
