Western Lake District
The River Cocker

The River Cocker flows out of Crummock Water situated in the Lorton Valley a few miles to the south. Its journey is a relatively short one, joining the River Derwent at Cockermouth (giving the town its name). It is a delightful river to walk along – this bridge over the river at Southwaite can be reached by foot from Cockermouth by following the river a couple of miles upstream.
